How do I order a custom cake? Send over an email sharing some information about your cake needs, including the event date, the number of servings you’re looking for, any dietary restrictions and any cake inspiration images.
When should I place my order? The sooner, the better! My calendar fills up quickly so it is recommended to inquire 4 to 6 weeks in advance of your event. For wedding cake orders it is best to inquire several months in advance. However, just check in with us, we may be able to fit you in on short notice.
Is my date reserved because I sent an e-mail inquiring? Unfortunately dates cannot be reserved by an inquiry. Your order is confirmed once a 50% deposit has been sent and accepted. Once I’ve sent a quote I reserve your spot for 48 hours, if I haven’t received deposit in that time frame, availability may no longer be available.
How much do custom cakes cost? Pricing is extremely dependant on the design, a quote will be provided after I learn more about what you’re looking for.
Is there an order minimum? Yes! My minimum cupcake order is 1 dozen & my minimum cake order serves 12.
Do you deliver? A custom delivery quote for wedding cakes, cakes larger than two tiers, or large bakery orders can be provided. Delivery on small orders or single cakes is not offered at this time. Please check to see if there is availability to deliver your cake and what the fee would be to your location.
What is your cancellation/refund policy? Once your 50% deposit is made the deposit is non-refundable. If the event is cancelled/postponed with more than a week’s notice the deposit may be able to be turned into a credit toward another order within the next 3 months if supplies have not been purchased.
Do you offer nut free cakes? Custom cakes can be made nut friendly, but are not nut free because they are made in a kitchen that has nut products and cross contamination may occur.
How should I store my cake? Keep your cake refrigerated until about 30 minutes to an hour before serving and let sit at room temperature. Any leftovers wrap in cling wrap and return to the refrigerator.
Can I make a change to my order? If you need to make a change to your order, please let us know at least a week prior to your pick up date. If decor or toppers have been ordered already changes may not be able to be made.
When do I pay for my cake? If paying via etransfer, total balance must be paid in full prior to pick up. If paying with cash, total balance must be paid in full at time of pick up. Wedding cake orders must be paid in full 1 week prior to delivery.
Are all of your cakes buttercream? Yes, all of my cake are filled and covered with my Signature Hybrid ABC/SMBC Buttercream. I do not offer cream cheese icing, whipped cream or fondant covered cakes.
Can you recreate a cake I saw online? Of course you may provide pictures you like for inspiration but your final design will be 100% unique to you. I am proud to offer completely unique creations so will not copy a cake exactly.
Is there anything I should know about transporting my cake?
- Hold the cake box from the bottom, not the sides
- Place the cake on the floor of your car, not on the seat
- Keep your car as cold as possible year round when transporting the cake
- Avoid placing the cake in direct sun
- Drive carefully, the structure of the cake is solid and chilled but once it leaves Atomic Design, we are no longer responsible
